Regional Director – Pacific

About the role

BirdLife International is seeking a dynamic Regional Director to lead its Pacific Partnership from Suva, Fiji. You will provide strategic direction, strengthen collaboration across partner organisations, and represent BirdLife in the region while driving conservation outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Pacific programme strategy in line with global objectives.
• Lead the Pacific Global Team, overseeing budgeting, HR, legal and administrative functions.
• Foster effective governance and risk management across the Pacific Executive Committee and Global Leadership Team.
• Coordinate conservation initiatives, campaigns and events, ensuring partner leadership and accountability.
• Represent the partnership with governments, donors, regional institutions and other stakeholders to influence policy and secure funding.
• Identify and pursue strategic partnerships and Asia‑Pacific funding opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in international conservation, NGOs or related sectors.
• Strong track record of strategic planning, organisational management and governance.
• Excellent communication and advocacy skills with experience engaging governments and donors.
• Ability to work collaboratively across diverse cultures and remote island contexts.
