Assistant Manager – Commercial Banking

About the role

As an Assistant Manager in Commercial Banking, you will support the Relationship Manager in driving sustainable business growth while maintaining sound risk management practices to ensure a high‑quality portfolio. The role requires strong discipline in adhering to governance and process requirements, a good understanding of customers’ business operations and the local market environment, and effective collaboration with stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Support Relationship Managers in making banking easier for customers, providing solutions and insights.
• Conduct financial analysis and develop and implement appropriate customer strategies.
• Establish and maintain a professional profile in the market and understand the customer’s industry and associated markets.
• Work collaboratively with internal functions and stakeholders.
• Demonstrate ANZ values with customers and colleagues.

Required profile

• Great financial literacy, analytical skills, commercial and business acumen.
• Strong ability to assess and interpret implications of financial trends.
• Prior experience developing strong relationships in a customer delivery or experience role.
• Sound understanding of structuring security arrangements.
• Experience in the banking industry is an advantage but not required.
• Preferably possesses an accounting or finance degree or equivalent (not a strict requirement).
