Investment Officer – Private Sector Finance

About the role

The Investment Officer will support ADB’s private‑sector financing activities for financial‑institution projects and technical assistance across the Pacific region. Based in Suva, the role combines project processing, credit analysis, and business development to advance ADB’s development objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and participate in project processing, including due‑diligence, risk analysis, and structuring of loans, equity investments, guarantees and other assistance.
• Conduct credit and financial due‑diligence, develop financial models, and assess risk and credit profiles of proposed projects.
• Analyze financial statements, perform sensitivity analysis and stress testing, and provide recommendations.
• Represent ADB in transactions with external advisors, consultants and lawyers.
• Collaborate with Risk Management, Safeguards, and Treasury to address credit, safeguard and local‑currency lending issues.
• Lead business‑development discussions with private‑sector and state‑owned financial institutions and build a pipeline of viable projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in management, finance or related field; CFA qualification preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the financial sector, including deal origination in debt and equity transactions.
• Proven ability to conduct research, analyze complex data and guide junior team members.
