NCD Officer - Policy and Evaluation

About the role

The Pacific Community (SPC) is seeking an NCD Officer to lead the co‑development, testing and application of a Pacific Non‑Communicable Diseases (NCD) Policy Impact Evaluation Framework. The role will work closely with the George Institute for Global Health and national stakeholders to strengthen the assessment of NCD policy effectiveness across Pacific Island countries.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the co‑development, refinement and testing of the Pacific NCD Policy Impact Evaluation Framework.
• Review global NCD policy impact evaluation frameworks and assess their relevance to Pacific contexts.
• Coordinate and facilitate co‑design processes with partner countries, ministries of health, NCD focal points and technical partners.
• Engage and communicate with ministries, policy units and regional partners to promote framework adoption.
• Organise and support meetings, workshops, consultations and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Support pilot implementation of the evaluation framework in participating Pacific Island countries and provide operational support.

Required profile

• Background in public health or health policy, with experience in NCD issues.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with government ministries, international partners and technical teams.
