NCD Officer - Policy and Evaluation

About the role

The Pacific Community (SPC) seeks a dedicated NCD Officer to lead policy development and evaluation activities within its Public Health Division. The role supports member countries in the Pacific region to improve health outcomes related to non‑communicable diseases through evidence‑based strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update policy frameworks addressing non‑communicable diseases in Pacific Island contexts.
• Design, implement and oversee monitoring and evaluation plans for NCD programmes.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to member countries on policy adoption and programme assessment.
• Collect, analyse and interpret health data to inform policy recommendations.
• Prepare and disseminate reports, briefs and presentations for stakeholders and decision‑makers.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background in public health, health policy, epidemiology or a related field.
• Experience working in health programmes, preferably with a focus on non‑communicable diseases.
• Strong analytical abilities and familiarity with health monitoring and evaluation processes.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with diverse Pacific Island partners.
