Public Financial Management (PFM) Consultant – Australia Fiji Health Program

About the role

The Fiji Program Support Platform is seeking a Public Financial Management (PFM) Consultant to support the Australia Fiji Health Program. This short‑term position runs from September 2026 to February 2027 and is based in Suva, Fiji. The role is open to Fiji nationals only and focuses on strengthening financial systems within the Ministry of Health and Medical Services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical advice on public financial management, budgeting and resource allocation for health sector initiatives.
• Support strategic coherence, planning and partnership management across the health program portfolio.
• Assist in data collection, analysis and learning to improve evidence‑based decision making.
• Ensure integration of gender equality, disability inclusion and climate‑resilience considerations into financial processes.
• Promote value‑for‑money outcomes, efficient use of local supply chains and good governance practices.

Required profile

• Fiji national with eligibility to work in Suva.
• Relevant experience in public financial management, preferably within government or health sector projects.
• Understanding of development assistance frameworks and cross‑cutting themes such as GEDSI and climate resilience.
• Ability to work on a fixed‑term contract for six months.
