Chief Steward

About the role

The Chief Steward will lead the stewarding department at Shangri‑La Yanuca Island, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and organization across all kitchen and food preparation areas. This position supports the culinary and F&B teams while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily stewarding operations, overseeing cleaning, sanitation and waste disposal in all kitchen zones.
• Coordinate with the culinary team and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Train, mentor and schedule stewarding staff to maintain performance standards.
• Monitor compliance with food safety regulations and health‑code requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a stewarding leadership role within a hotel or large‑scale food operation.
• Strong knowledge of kitchen hygiene, sanitation standards and food safety regulations.
• Proven ability to lead and train teams in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent organizational and operational management skills.
