About the role
This practical, people‑focused position supports Fiji’s labour mobility programme by coordinating the recruitment, screening, training, mobilisation and reintegration of workers. The officer works closely with the National Employment Centre, the Foreign Employment Services Unit and reports to the Manager, Foreign Employment Services.
Key responsibilities
- Support worker recruitment, screening, selection and mobilisation, including processing and verifying applications and supporting documentation.
- Maintain worker registration records, databases and filing systems, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
- Respond promptly and professionally to worker and employer enquiries via in‑person, telephone and email.
- Coordinate recruitment events, employer interviews, testing, selection activities and logistics for employer visits and recruitment missions.
- Prepare and deliver pre‑departure briefings, post‑deployment returnee briefings and work‑readiness training.
- Develop, update and maintain training materials relevant to Fiji’s labour mobility context.
- Engage with training providers, development partners and stakeholders, and build capacity of Foreign Employment Services staff to support training delivery.
- Monitor training effectiveness through participant surveys, feedback and reporting, contributing to continuous improvement.
Required profile
- Strong organisational and coordination abilities to manage multiple recruitment and training activities.
- Excellent customer‑service orientation with the ability to respond professionally to enquiries.
- Experience maintaining accurate records and databases.
- Ability to work collaboratively with government agencies, training providers, development partners and employers.
- Effective communication skills for delivering briefings and training sessions.
