Account Executive – Banking SaaS

About the role

We are seeking a results‑driven Account Executive to generate new business and manage strategic client relationships within the banking and financial services sector. The role blends consultative sales with ongoing account management to ensure clients maximise value from our technology solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, target and secure new banking and financial services clients, developing and executing strategic sales plans to meet revenue targets.
• Lead the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract negotiation and closure, building strong pipelines via networking and referrals.
• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned banking clients, building trusted relationships with key stakeholders in New Zealand.
• Identify upsell and cross‑sell opportunities, conduct regular account reviews and strategic planning sessions to drive retention and expansion.
• Collaborate with implementation and support teams to ensure smooth onboarding, monitor client usage and proactively address issues.
• Represent the company at industry events, maintain deep knowledge of banking trends, regulatory requirements and competitive landscape, and provide market feedback.

Required profile

• Proven B2B technology sales experience, preferably within banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of banking operations, compliance and digital transformation trends.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex, enterprise‑level sales cycles and achieve or exceed targets.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Self‑motivated with a track record of meeting sales objectives.
• Experience using sales management tools such as Salesforce.
