Accounts Payable Specialist

About the role

The Wonderful Company is hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist in Suva. The specialist manages the company's accounts payable function so that invoices and payments are processed accurately, efficiently and on time. The role covers supplier record keeping, account reconciliation, dispute resolution and support of month-end and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Process and verify supplier invoices in line with company policy, matching them to purchase orders, receipts and supporting documents
• Ensure accurate coding and approval of invoices
• Prepare and process supplier payments within agreed terms
• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date supplier and vendor records
• Respond to supplier and internal queries about invoices and payments
• Assist with month-end closing, including AP reconciliations and accruals
• Monitor outstanding invoices and resolve overdue or disputed items
• Keep proper documentation for audit purposes and ensure compliance with internal controls, tax requirements and accounting procedures
• Identify ways to improve AP processes and reduce errors, and prepare AP reports

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field
• Relevant accounts payable or accounting experience
• 3 years' experience in a similar role
• Good understanding of accounting principles and AP processes
• Strong attention to detail, organisation and time management, and good communication and stakeholder-management skills
• Ability to handle high-volume transactions and meet deadlines

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Accounting and ERP systems (ERP experience is an advantage)
• Strong reconciliation and problem-solving abilities
