Claims Specialist

About the role

The Claims Specialist is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Suva, responsible for managing insurance claims from initial notification through to resolution, ensuring fair and timely outcomes in line with policy terms.

Key responsibilities

• Review claim documentation and gather additional information from customers and third parties.
• Analyze claim details, interpret policy wording and determine coverage and settlement options.
• Communicate decisions and updates to customers, providing a supportive claims experience.
• Maintain accurate claim records and collaborate with internal teams on complex cases.
• Contribute to process improvements to enhance claims handling efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in end‑to‑end claims management and handling.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of insurance principles and products, preferably personal and commercial lines.
• Effective written and verbal communication, able to explain complex information empathetically.
• Ability to work on‑site in Suva, collaborate within a team and manage competing priorities.
• Relevant tertiary qualification or professional certification in insurance, business or a related field is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with claims management systems.
• Proficiency with common office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
