Senior Finance Associate – Fixed Term (Suva, Fiji)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Senior Finance Associate to support financial operations for its South Pacific programmes. Reporting to the Chief of Mission and the Head of Resources Management, the incumbent will ensure compliance with IOM financial policies and provide expert advice to project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide procedural guidance, supervise and train finance support staff.
• Manage financial resources, monitor assets, reserves, funds and supplies in line with IOM regulations.
• Assist in preparing annual budget submissions, revisions and cost estimations for staff, office expenses and contracts.
• Consolidate data into financial statements, monitor expenditures and ensure they stay within authorized limits.
• Prepare regular and ad‑hoc financial reports to support decision‑making and oversee bank reconciliations.

Required profile

• High school diploma with six years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field with four years of experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; prior experience with SAP is a distinct advantage.
• Attention to detail, ability to organise paperwork methodically and a client‑oriented attitude.
• Experience working with international humanitarian organisations or in multicultural settings is preferred.
