Investment Associate

About the role

Matanataki is looking for an Investment Associate to join the investment team of the Matanataki Pacific Fund 1. The role offers exposure to the full investment lifecycle, from origination to portfolio monitoring, and involves direct interaction with Pacific‑based businesses and their management teams.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct company, sector and market research to identify potential investment opportunities.
• Build and maintain financial models, valuations and scenario analyses.
• Support commercial and financial due diligence, coordinating information from investees and external advisors.
• Prepare investment memoranda, Investment Committee materials and other transaction documentation.
• Maintain the deal pipeline and internal investment reporting.
• Monitor portfolio companies’ financial, operational and impact performance.
• Prepare portfolio analysis, dashboards and reports for governance bodies.
• Work with portfolio company teams on value‑creation initiatives and support board and governance meetings.

Required profile

• Experience or strong interest in investment analysis, due diligence and portfolio monitoring.
• Ability to work independently and progressively take ownership of investment workstreams.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with senior team members and portfolio companies.
