Multi-line Underwriter – Insurance

About the role

We are looking for a conscientious, team‑focused Underwriter to join our close‑knit team in Fiji. Reporting to the Underwriting Manager, you will own a diverse multi‑line portfolio, develop broker relationships and contribute to the growth of our insurance business.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite new business and renewal opportunities within delegated authority.
• Manage and grow a broad portfolio of insurance products.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and key stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to expand the portfolio and achieve business targets.
• Monitor portfolio performance and support underwriting reviews and analysis.
• Maintain accurate underwriting records and ensure regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Proven underwriting experience with solid understanding of underwriting principles and insurance products.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain broker and customer relationships.
• Strong decision‑making, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, relationship‑driven environment.
• Willingness to learn QBE’s systems, processes and culture.

Required skills

• Experience with underwriting software and emerging AI technologies (as used by QBE).
