Night Auditor

About the role

The Night Auditor is responsible for completing end‑of‑day financial and guest service tasks for a hotel property. This full‑time position ensures accurate accounting, smooth guest check‑ins, and compliance with hotel policies during overnight hours.

Key responsibilities

• Post charges, run night audit backup, and roll the date.
• Process all payment types, including room charges, cash, checks, debit, and credit.
• Handle adjustment vouchers, paid‑outs, correction vouchers, and miscellaneous charges.
• Print contingency lists for emergency guest records.
• Sell rooms to walk‑in guests based on availability.
• Operate telephone switchboard, manage wake‑up calls, and relay messages.
• Complete the Room Rate Variance Report.
• Check‑in guests, assign rooms, and issue electronic key cards.
• Count and secure the bank at shift end, balance receipts per accounting specifications.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management.
• Maintain professional appearance, confidentiality, and protect company assets.
• Provide courteous guest service, assist individuals with disabilities, and follow quality standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Less than 1 year of related work experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to lift objects up to 10 lb without assistance.
