Procurement Associate

About the role

The Procurement Associate will support the UNDP Pacific multi‑country office in delivering efficient and transparent procurement services across ten Pacific Island nations. Working under the guidance of senior procurement staff, the role contributes to the implementation of UNDP’s strategic priorities in climate resilience, inclusive growth and good governance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, evaluation and award of procurement contracts in accordance with UNDP and UN procurement rules.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, databases and reporting tools for the Pacific programme portfolio.
• Coordinate with implementing partners, suppliers and internal units to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Support the monitoring of contract performance, delivery schedules and compliance with terms.
• Contribute to market research, supplier outreach and the development of procurement strategies.
• Provide administrative support for procurement documentation, filing and archiving.

Required profile

• University degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics or a related field.
• Relevant experience in procurement, contract administration or supply management, preferably in an international development context.
• Familiarity with UN procurement guidelines and public‑sector procurement processes.
• Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail and ability to work in a multi‑country, multicultural environment.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of a Pacific Island language is an asset.
