Public Financial Management (PFM) Consultant – Short-Term (Sep 2026‑Feb 2027)

About the role

We are seeking a Public Financial Management (PFM) Consultant to support the Australia Fiji Health Program (AFHP) through the Fiji Program Support Platform (FPSP). The short‑term position runs from September 2026 to February 2027 and is based in Suva, Fiji. The role is open to Fiji nationals only.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical advice on public financial management systems to the Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) and related government agencies.
• Support evidence‑based planning, budgeting, and resource allocation for health sector programmes.
• Assist in strengthening digital health and medical supply‑chain financial processes.
• Contribute to gender‑equality, disability‑inclusive and climate‑resilient budgeting practices.
• Collaborate with FPSP teams to ensure value‑for‑money delivery and effective risk management.

Required profile

• Fiji national with a relevant tertiary qualification in finance, economics, public administration or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in public sector financial management, preferably within health or development programmes.
• Understanding of evidence‑based planning, budgeting and financial reporting.
• Ability to work in a multicultural development environment and liaise with government stakeholders.
