Network & Billing Operations Engineer (Level 1)

About the role

Digicel Pacific is seeking a motivated Network & Billing Operations Engineer (Level 1) to join its Technical Operations Team in Khalsa. The role focuses on first‑line monitoring, troubleshooting and operational support of core network and billing platforms serving Fiji and regional hub markets.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor core network and billing platforms, alarms, events and dashboards to detect faults and service‑impacting issues.
• Acknowledge, classify, prioritize and manage incidents according to SOPs, SLA requirements and escalation procedures.
• Perform first‑level troubleshooting, fault isolation and basic signaling/protocol trace analysis using available diagnostic tools.
• Log and maintain accurate trouble tickets, documenting actions, escalations and resolutions.
• Escalate complex incidents to L2/L3 engineering teams and vendors, following the escalation matrix.
• Conduct routine health checks, service verification and basic KPI monitoring.
• Provide first‑line support for voice, data, prepaid, post‑paid and billing services.
• Assist with planned maintenance, work orders, upgrades and product roll‑outs, including pre‑check and post‑change validation.
• Participate in a rotating roster to ensure 24/7 operational coverage.

Required profile

• Strong interest in telecommunications operations and a willingness to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to follow documented procedures and work collaboratively with L2/L3 teams, vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Good communication skills for incident reporting and escalation.
