Licensed Electrical Technician

About the role

The Licensed Electrical Technician will assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical and electronic systems for our hotel facilities in Fiji. This full‑time position supports both routine maintenance and emergency repairs while ensuring compliance with the National Electric Code and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures using hand and power tools.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair malfunctioning tools, equipment, and electrical systems.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components; use testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
• Plan layout and installation of wiring and fixtures based on job specifications and code requirements.
• Read and follow blueprints and schematics; respond to repair requests and perform preventative maintenance.
• Maintain inventory, requisition parts, and follow all safety, security, and confidentiality policies.

Required profile

• Technical, trade, or vocational school degree.
• At least 2 years of related electrical work experience.
• Open to Fiji citizens only.
• No supervisory experience required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment (ohmmeters, voltmeters, oscilloscopes).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical codes.
• Experience planning and installing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
• Knowledge of National Electric Code and local Fiji electrical regulations.
